Awesome window manager config files
My configuration scripts for the Awesome window manager are available in a GIT repository.
Latest bleeding edge Awesome config scripts can be downloaded using the Git version control software by issuing the following command:
git clone git://git.bues.ch/awesome.git
To browse the Git repository online, go to the gitweb interface.
This Awesome config offers some interesting features, among these:
- Panel on the left side of the screen. This frees some vertical space, which is especially useful on netbooks with 16:9 widescreen.
- Per machine config by hostname. Special configuration files (named machine-HOSTNAME.lua) can be used to override certain options on a per-machine basis.
- Dynamic window borders. Don't show borders, if it is not necessary.
- Dynamic titlebar. Only show the titlebar for floating windows.
- Click on the clock opens the calendar application, specified in the CALENDAR_APP_GUI environment variable.
- Hovering the clock with the mouse pops up a life updating advanced clock.
- Easy autostart of applications by autostart.lua
- And a lot more bells and whistles.
